You have come to the right place! MCDHH is always looking for passionate supporters of the rights of Minnesotans who are deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind to become MCDHH Board Members. The Governor’s appoints the members. We work with them to make sure that at least 8 of the members are deaf, hard of hearing or deafblind.
Board Members are important!
MCDHH relies on Board Members for information about what is happening in the deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind communities. Board Members also oversee the budget, develop, update and measure the progress of the MCDHH strategic plan. We accomplish a lot because of the work of our commission members and supporters in the community. We need you to commit to attending the four full commission meetings held yearly, contribute your best ideas, and give time as you are able on projects, commitees or lobbying at the legislature.
There are 15 board members on the Commission. Seven are At-Large and 8 are Regional Representatives. Members are appointed for three-year terms with a maximum of two consecutive terms.
7 At-large Members: You must be 18 and live or work in Minnesota.
