Who should be the first to receive the H1N1 vaccine in Minnesota?
As determined by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, ACIP;
Because of the limited level of vaccine available in the state of Minnesota, the following targeted group of people should be vaccinated first:
- Pregnant women
- Those who live with and those that care for infants under 6 months of age
- Children between the ages of 6 months of age and 4 years of age
- Children who are between the ages of 5 and 18 who have medical conditions that place them in “high risk” categories
- Health care workers and emergency personnel who care for sick people
After ACIP determines the level of vaccine is sufficient in our state the following group should receive the H1N1 vaccine:
- Pregnant women
- Those who live with and care for children under 6 months of age
- Children who are between the ages of 6 months and 18 years old who have chronic health conditions
- Health care and emergency services personnel
- People who are between the ages 25 and 64 who are at risk because of chronic health care conditions
