2010 Legislative Agenda

As decided and voted on by members of the Commission, January 15, 2010:

• Defend existing Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing programs from cuts,

• advocate for expanded eligibility for Part B special education services (ages 4-21) for children who are deaf and hard of hearing if the governor includes policy recommendations,

• advise Metro Deaf School-Minnesota North Star Academy on strategy to get a legislative solution to their budget crisis and advocate for its passage,

• respond to unforeseen opportunities or threats during legislative session as they arise.
