Community Mourns Loss of Faithful Servant

In recent years, Minnesota has mourned the loss of many of it leaders and faithful stewards of the Deaf Community – this week, yet another. Karen Fuechtmann’s life, together with her husband Ralph, was devoted to serving the community she so loved.

Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, & Grandmother passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the age of 66. She graduated from the Minnesota School for the Deaf in Faribault and received her B.S. from Gallaudet College in Washington, D.C.

She returned to Minnesota to marry her sweetheart, Ralph, and raise three children, Herman, Cindy, and Gloria. She has seven grandchildren.

Aside from creating a wonderful home for her family, she worked in service professions. She generously gave her time and energy to many Deaf organizations and church. Her kind heart and sweet spirit are beloved by all who knew her.
